Mr. Larry Hargrove passed away on 05/11/2017 at McLeod Medical Center in Dillon, SC. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time, but will be announced later. You may visit the family at 1556 West Main Street, Dillon, SC.

OBITUARY 

Larry Hargrove was born on April 30, 1952 to Lula & John A Hargrove in Lauringburg NC. He departed this earthly life on Thursday, May 11, 2017, in Dillon, SC.

Larry attended the public schools of Dillon County "Gordan Trojan High School". After working for various companies throughout his life, he discovered his life as a barber. He took his gift and turned it into an entrepreneurial opportunity that supported his family. In addition to being s skilled barber, Larry was a mentor to anyone he came in contact with. Being well known and respected in the community, he gained many friends. After retirement, he spent time spoiling his grandchildren, fishing, visiting family, and going to support the DHS football team. He was a member of Mars Hill Bibleway Church in Dillon, SC. He was truly loved by his family and friends and will be deeply missed by many; his physical presence is gone but his legend will last forever!

Preceding him in death were: parents Lula Mae & John A. Hargrove, one sister Katie Hargrove, 3 brothers John R. Hargrvoe, Alexander Hargrove & Roy L. Hargrove and one son Brandon Hargrove.  

Larry leaves to cherish fond and loving memories: his wife Hattie Hargrove; daughters- Deveta and Tamara Huggins of Hempstead NY, April Brigman of Florence SC, Lovie Page of Rowland NC, Rachelle Lighty. Shannon Hargrove, Teresa McLaurin & Monique Salmon all of Dillon SC; Sons- Derrick (Demetrice) Lighty of Florence SC, Darrin (Michele) Davis, Marcus (Lesile) McCall & Larry Brigman all of DIllon SC; Sisters- Maxine Manning , Mary Hargrive & Yvonne (James) Avant all of Dillon SC. Brother- Jerome (Brenda) Hargrove of Dillon SC; Sisiters in law - Nancy Hargrove, Shadie Hargrove, Lula Smith, Willena (Calvin) Dunson & Annie Lighty. Brothers in law - James (Mary) Lighty, Perry (Geraldine) Lighty, Willie (Mary) Lighty, Sam (Daisy) Lighty all of Dillon SC, Curtis (Shelva) Lighty of Pottstown PA, David Lighty of San Diego CA. A loving motherin law- Lousie Lighty: 27 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren & a host of nieces, nephews and friends who loved him dearly.
