It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of Sylvia N. Sowells of Dillon, SC. Sylvia passed away at her home in Dillon, SC on May 25, 2020. Funeral Service for Sylvia will be Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at Saint Matthew AME Church in Hamer, SC. Service will began at 11:00am. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Sylvia Natash Sowells was born on December 30, 1974 to Thelma Louise Mack and James Johnson. Sylvia departed this earthly life on Monday, May 25, 2020 at her residence.

Sylvia was educated in the public schools of Dillon County and furthered her education at Morris College in Sumter, South Carolina where she attained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Sylvia was full of life and loved her family, especially the children whom she affectionately called her nieces and nephews.

Sylvia will be missed especially for her famous potato pies, potato bread and potato salad.

Sylvia was preceded in death by her grand- parents: Robert Lee Sowells, Hattie Sowells and Katie McLellan, and two aunts: Ruby Lee Sowells and Karen Sowells.

Sylvia leaves to cherish loving memories her mother, Rev. Thelma Mack, a loving brother Siran Mack, a special family Mary Marshall, Larhonda Marshall, Duck Marshall, June McBride, and Raymond McBride, a host of loving cousins, other relatives and friends. Three special friends: Sherine Bethea, Jackie Gerald and Shanton Graves.
