Joshua McLeod Obituary

Mr. Joshua McLeod entered into eternal rest on Thursday, April 2, 2020 at the Medical University of South Carolina in Marion, South Carolina. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, April 10, 2020 at 1:00 P.M. from Greene's Funeral Home in the Preston Greene, Jr. Memorial Chapel 402 East Calhoun Street in Dillon, South Carolina.

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain for the former things are passed away.

Obituary

Joshua McLeod known as “Hun” was born September 15, 1941 in Dillon, South Carolina to the late George Layton McLeod and Grady Nichols McLeod. He departed this earthly life on Thursday, April 2, 2020.

Joshua was a generous man with a big heart. He enjoyed sitting on his porch. He loved his family and friends. He was a member at Marshill Bibleway Holiness Church and in later years joined St. Stephens United Methodist Church where he remained a member until his health failed.

Joshua was married to the late Virginia Harley McLeod and to this union six children were born 3 daughters: Barbara Ann McLeod, Frances McLeod, and the late Emma Jean McLeod, 3 sons: Larry McLeod, Ray Charles McLeod, and Joshua McLeod, Jr, and 3 step children Louise, Betty Jean, and J. W.

In later years Joshua married the late Julia Mae Hayes McLeod. He was preceded in death by 7 siblings.

Joshua leaves to cherish fond and loving memories 2 sons: Ray Charles McLeod and Larry McLeod 2 daughters: Barbara Ann McLeod and Frances McLeod  2 sisters: Emma Mae Bethea and Marie Goings, 4 grandchildren: Shonda McLeod, Elizabeth (Nunse) McLeod, Calvin McLeod, and 1 preceded him in death Sendropelis (Man Man) Harmon 5 Great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. A special thank you to Sunny Acres in the Fork Community, MUSC of Marion-Mullins hospital and hospice, and Thorne Nursing Center in Lake View, South Carolina.

 

Due to the COVID-19 and the CDC regulations, social distancing and crowd limitations will be strictly enforced and required during this service. If you are sick we ask that you please do not attend the service. The family will appreciate hearing from you by telephone or other acts of condolence. 

 Please be reminded that your attendance at any public gathering or funeral is at YOUR OWN RISK.
