George McRae Obituary

George McRae entered into eternal rest on Friday, March 1, 2019 at his home in Dillon, South Carolina. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. from the Outreach Family Fellowship. Burial will follow in the McRae Family Cemetery in the Oakland Community in Dillon, South Carolina.

Mr. George Wellington McRae was born to the late John Henry McRae and Laura Bell McRae on July 25, 1928. He departed this life on March 1, 2019 at his home in Dillon, South Carolina.

George attended the public schools of Dillon County. He worked in construction with Goings Construction Company under the watchful eye of Mr. Nathan (Jim) Goings. He will forever be remembered and appreciated for his kindness, his generosity and his hospitality. He was loved dearly by all that knew him.

Mr. George McRae was preceded in death by his loving wife Lillie Mae McRae, his parents, the late John Henry and Laura Bell McRae, and his three sisters: Eloise Sharp, Odestine Epppinger and Peggy Johnson and one son O'nay McRae.

Left to cherish fond memories are three daughters: Georgia Lee (Doug), Leslie Alford (Ronald), and Phyllis Goodson (WJ), three sons: Lafonso W. McRae (Tracey), Glen  Wright, and Lafonson R. McRae, one sister Lexie McRae of  Wilmington, North Carolina and two-brothers-in-law: James Leslie of Greensboro, North Carolina and John Henry McRae (Evelyn) of Bronx, New York. Two sisters-in-law: Angela Leslie and Rosie Taylor (David) of Fort Mill, South Carolina. He also leaves behind a host of grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
