Obituary

Mr. Alex John Bethea, Sr. was born to the late Hartense Bethea and Walter Bethea on December 30, 1949 and entered into eternal rest at the McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence, South Carolina on Friday, July 19, 2019 with his daughter Shamone and granddaughter Kumani Bethea by his side.

Mr. Alex attended the public schools of Dillon, South Carolina.

Mr. Alex was preceded in death by his parents Hartense Bethea and Walter Bethea, and two sisters: Clara Mae Davis and Mary Anne Manning.

Mr. Alex leaves to cherish fond memories two daughters: Evelyn Davis of Atlanta, Georgia and Cleopatra Bethea of Highpoint, North Carolina, three sons: Alex (Von) Bethea, Jr., Antonio Bethea and Dominic Bethea all of High Point, North Carolina, three brothers: Willie (Claudia) Bethea of Dillon, South Carolina, John Bethea and James (Sheryl) Bethea both of High Point, North Carolina, four sisters: Flossie Manning and Flora Robinson both of High Point, North Carolina, Thomasina Arnold of Wyandanch, New York and Annie Mae Bethea of Brooklyn, New York, thirteen grandchildren, one aunt Maggie Bethea of Dillon, South Carolina, two special nieces: Angela "Angel" (Maurice) Miles and Claretha "Lady" McGill as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.

Mr. Alex John Bethea entered into eternal rest on Friday, July 19, 2019 at the McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence, South Carolina. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, July 26, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. from the Pine Hill African Methodist Episcopal Church in Dillon, South Carolina. Interment will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery Dillon, South Carolina.

The family will receive friends at 1875 Hiltons Court (Riverdale Community) in Dillon, South Carolina
