Mr. Melvin L. Bethe entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, April 23, 2012 in the Greenville Memorial Hospital in Greenville, South Carolina.

Funeral services for Mr. Bethea will be conducted on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at 1:00 P. M. from the Marshill Bibleway Holiness Church in Dillon, South Carolina with Elder Tommy Pittman officiating.

The viewing for Mr. Betehea will take place on Monday, May 28, 2012 beginning at 1:00 P.M. and ending at 7:00 P.M. and Tuesday, May 29, 2012 from 10:00 A.M. until 11:30 A.M. in the Preston Greene, Jr. Memorial Chapel .

Melvin Lewis Bethea son of Hazel Bethea and the late Lindsay Bethea was born on February 24, 1965 in Dillon, South Carolina and departed this life on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 in the Greenville Memorial Hospital in Greenville, South Carolina.

"Silk" as Melvin was affectionately called by his friends, with his awesome sayings, "I barely survived yesterday and it's already today," was educated in the Dillon Public Schools. Melvin finished his studies in the Job Corp where he received his GED with a trade in welding.

Melvin attended Marshill Bibleway Holiness Church until he moved to Greenville, South Carolina. He then affiliated himself with Nichol Town Baptist Church in Greenville, South Caolina.

Melvin was employed with L & M Waste Quit Welding Incorporated for twenty-two years. Sports was his passion and first love. From a litle boy the Pittsburgh Steelers was Melvin's favorite team.

Melvin was prededed in death by two sibling: Odell and Kim Bethea.

Left to cherish fond memories are his mother Hazel Bethea of Dillon, South Carolina, a daughter Jessica Bethea of Dillon, South Carolina, two brothers: Lynn (Linda) Bethea and Keith Bethea both of Dillon, South Carolina, two sisters: Hannah (Otis) Brown and Mary (Travis) Brown both of Dillon, South Carolina, five aunts, two uncles, a grand daughter Jaleah Bethea, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends Winkie and Brandi of Greenville, South Carolina and Tina of Dillon, South  Carolina.

Final resting place for Mr. Bethea will be in the Resthaven Cemetery .

The family will receive freinds at 1503 Preston Drive in the Newtown Community of Dillon, South Carolina .
