James Willie Platt Sr. was born August 15, 1945 in Hamlet North Carolina, to the late Daniel and thelma Platt. He was the baby of six children. James affectionately known as "JP" "Cave Man" and "Ham" was an avid traveler. He lived in the states of North Carolina, Maryland and South Carolina. James lived in Washington, District of Columbia until his death. For the majority of his career, he worked as a roofer of his own roofing company. "North South East & West James Platt is the Best". During his off seasons, he did various home improvements and often completed odd jobs. James was a wonderful father, grandfather, brother and friend. He loved family gatherings and good music. He always lent a helping hand when needed and could strike up a conversation with anyone, about anything. On Monday October 01, 2007, at Prince George's Community Hospital in cheverly, Maryland, Jimmy was called home to join his parents, brothers, sisters, son (James Jr.) and grandson (delonte). Jimmy is survived by his two daughters endia (Anthony ) and ebonie Platt; grandchildren tahjae Jackson and Demetris Platt; one sister Doretha Platt; one brother John Brown (Mary), and a host of relatives and friends.
