Mr. James A. Jackson entered into eternal rest on Thursday, August 20, 2015 in the Carolinas Hospital System in Florence, South Carolina after an illness. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later.
The family will receive friends at 1167 Old Ebenezer Road in Latta, South Carolina.
Funeral services for Mr. James Jackson will be conducted on Sunday, August 23, 2015 at 2:00 P.M.. from Outreach Family Fellowship in the Riverdale Community of Dillon, South Carolina. Bishop and Dr. Louise Goings are the Pastors. Burial will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery.

Mr. James Albert "Pokey" Jackson son of the late James Shaw and Maxine Jackson was born on March 28, 1956 in Dillon County South Carolina and departed this life on Thursday, August 20, 2015 in the Carolinas Hospital System after an illness.
James was married to the former Elsie Roberts for 37 years and this couple dated for three years prior to m a rriage. The Bible says,"...He who finds a wife finds a good thing." (Proverbs 18:22). Elsie was the epitome of a Christian wife. To this union one son was born,, John Corey, who was a wonderful son.
James was employed by Roberts Painting as a painter for many years.
James was a faithful member of Outreach Family Fellowship where he served as a Prayer Warrior, a member of the Witness Team, an active participant of the Conference Prayer Team, where he never missed a c all unless he was in the hospital. During Praise and Worship James was very dedicated and led by example. He was always the first one to come out and get everyone ready to receive the word of God.
James was very competitive and his favorite past time was playing Monopoly. James had a sense of humor and could bring a smile to anyone's face. Jams loved his family and in-laws and they love him too!
Left to cherish fond memories of James are his wife Elsie R. Jackson of the home, one son, John Corey Jackson of Florence, South Carolina,four brothers: Willie (Annie) Jackson of Dillon, South Carolina, Mark Jackson of Florence, South Carolina, Jerome (Katrina) Jackson of Florence, South Carolina, and Kenny Jackson of Little Rock, South Carolina, his mother-in-law and father-in-law Mr. and Mrs. John and Geraldine Roberts of Latta, South Carolina; six sisters-in-law: Gwendolyn (William) McNeil of Andrews, South Carolina, Gloria (David) Barr of Georgetown, South Carolina, Denice Baines of Latta, South Carolina, Annette (James) McDowell of Dillon, South Carolina, Lisa Farmer of Georgetown, South Carolina, and Gail Roberts of Marion, South Carolina; four brothers-in-law, Ronnie (Ruth) Roberts of Dillon, South Carolina, Gregory (Jolene) Roberts of Fort Washington, Maryland, Jackie (Anita) Roberts of Los Angeles, California, and Geral (Valerie) Roberts of Quinby, South Carolina; special nephews: Zachery McDowell, Jeremy Roberts and Daniel Roberts; special nieces Destiny Williams, Jade McDowell, Crystal Jackson and Felicia "Boom" Jackson, many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
James' love for children can be shown in the fact that his best friend was a six year old neighbor, Elijah Braddy.
