Mr. James E. Davis 64 of Dillon died on Friday, January 6,2012 at his home after an extended illness. James Edward Davis son of the late James and Clara Cabbagestalk was born on May 16, 1946 in Latta, South Carolina and departed this life on Friday, January 6, 2012 at his home. James attended the public schools of Latta, South Carolina. On January 6, 1967 James was joined in Holy Matrimony to Aggie Mae McLeod and to this union eight children were born. James worked at Rownd and Sons Manufacturing Company until the plant closed. He was a proud member of Bibleway Tabernacle Church in Dillon, South Carolina. He gave his life to Christ on July 19, 2011. James was a loving husband and father. He loved to go fishing, hunting, and spend time with his family. He was a great friend and a well-known member of the community in which he lived. He will be greatly missed by everyone whose lives he touched. James is survived by his wife Aggie Mae Davis, children: Sharon (Marvin) Wright, James Jr. (Yashima) Davis, Rose (Wendell) Knowles, Beverly Davis, Terry (Selesce) Davis, Carl (Linice) Davis, Stephanie Davis, Stacey Davis, James E. Davis, and Jennifer Davis all of Dillon, S. C. Regina (James) Lennon of North Carolina, Tyrone Davis, Germaine (Melissa) Davis, Mae Davis, Kevin Rogers, Karen Davis, James C. Davis, and Pamela Hughes all of Dillon, South Carolina. Eight Siblings: Lillie Mae Coleman, Linzy Davis, James "Bootsie" (Florine) Cabbagestalk, John 'Tang" Cabbagestalk, Joyce (James) McLellan, Kenneth (Karen) Cabbagestalk, Clara "Sugal" Bellmon, Shirley Cabbagestalk, and Gene Cabbagestalk all of Dillon, South Carolina, Sixty-five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, a hose of nieces, nephews, and special friends Jimmy Brock, Stephen (Steve) Sanderson, and George Farmer. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, January 13, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. from the Manning Baptist Church in Dillon, South Carolina. Elder Michael Keys will be officiating. Final resting place for Mr. Davis will be in the Resthaven Cemetery in Dillon, South Carolina. The family will receive friends at 527 Beaufort Street in Dillon, SC.
