"To everything there is a season,a time to every purpose under heaven" Ecclesiastes 3:1 Mrs. Hattie Mae Dunson McAllister was born on March 19, 1937 to the late Abraham and Henrietta Dunson in Dillon County South Carolina. She departed this life on Thursday, March 18, 2010 in the Carolina's Hospital System in Florence, S.C. after an illness. Hattie joined St. Matthew A.M.E. Church where she served faithfully until her health failed. She served on the Senior Choir, Kitchen Committee, and in other capacities of the church for many years. Hattie was married to James Willie McAllister and to this union came five children. Four sons; Rev. Eugene (Rosa) Dunson, James A. (Alease) McAllister, William Chester McAllister all of Hamer, S.C. and Robert Clarence "Buddy" (Gloria) both of whom preceded her in death. One daughter Queen Eagle of Latta, S.C. Hattie leaves to cherish fond memories six brothers; Abraham Dunson, Jr. of Jacksonville, N.C., Joe Henry (Eleanor) of Hamer, S.C., Calvin (Willena), John Wesley (Sarah) of Hamer, S.C., Prince Jr. (Sherida) of Dillon, S.C., and Herman Lee (Beulah)preceded him in death. Two sisters; Emma Lee (John Pinckely), and Mary Etta (John McCallum) of Hamer, S.C.; a special friend Tracey Ladson; Vergie Page of Dillon, S.C.; eight grandchildren, Ronldale McAllister who was her heart. Several nieces, nephews, relatives and friend. Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, March 21, 2010 from the St. Matthew African Methodist Episcopal Church with the Rev. Johnny O. Coe officiating. Final resting place will be in the St. Matthew A.M.E. Church Cemetery in the Hamer community. Visitation for Mrs. McAllister will be on Saturday, March 20, 2010 in the Preston Greene Memorial Chapel from 12:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. The family will receive friends at 321 Elkins Road in Hamer, S.C.
