Obituary

Mrs. Gwendolyn Joyce McLeod Samuel entered into eternal rest on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at her home in Dillon, South Carolina. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time and will be announced later.

Funeral services for M rs. Samuel will be conducted on Friday, August 28, 2015 at 3:00 P.M. from the Fresh Beginnings Christian Center, 2220 Highway #9 West in Little Rock, South Carolina with the Rev. Ricky Gilchrist officiating. Burial will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery in Dillon, South Carolina.

Obituary

Gwendolyn Joyce McLeod Samuel the daughter of Bishop Freeman and Mother Mae Old McLeod was born July 29, 1959 in Dillon, South Carolina and departed this earthly life at her home in Dillon, South Carolina on August 21, 2015.

Joyce was  prededed in death by her husband Gregory Samuel; two brothers, Montrovia and Darren (Derwin) McLeod; one sister Patricia Evelyn McLeod Eagle and her mother and father in law Pearlie and Bobbie Mae Samuel.

Joyce received her education in Dillon County South Carolina and graduated with the class of 1977. She later attended Northeastern Technical College to complete her certificate and was a Teacher Assistant for over 10 years in the Dillon and Marlboro County Schools. Joyce loved teaching young childdren and playing drums on Sunday mornings.

Joyce started her Christian journed at Bright Light Aspostolic Church in Sellers, South Carolina where she played drums as often as she could.

Joyce was joined in Holy Matrimony to Gregory Samuel on February 24, 1993 and to this union two children were born: Brittany Jole and Bryan Motez Samuel.

Left to cherish fond memories of Joyce are; her children, Brittany and Bryan of the home; her parents Bishop Freeman and Mother Mae Old McLeod of Dillon, South Carolina; four sisters: Cynthia Harlee and Linda McLeod both of Dillon, South Carolina, Freida (Marvin) Harley of Harris Township, Michigan and Catherine (Attorney Ronald) Foxworth of Lumbertown, North Carolina; two sisters-in-law, Kenya McLeod of Latta, South Carolina and Lenora McLeod of Dillon, South Carolina; one brother-in-law Matt Eagle of Dillon, South Carolina; special friends, Nylon Wade, Mother Harriett Jones, Katherine Alfor, Pastor Bethea; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Don't spend too much time mourning, tears are for the sad, I left to be with Jesus and this should make you glad.

Don't waste your hours grieving; no need to feel distress. I'm tired of life's frustrations and had to get some rest.

Don't vex yourself with questions or try to reason why. Life here for me has ended it came my time to die.

Don't lose the love I gave you; fill it with devotion and spread it everywhere.

Don't fret because my leaving came in such a way. We will have another meeting in God's eternal day.
