Obituary

OBITUARY

Garret Lee Brunson, son of the late John Henry Brunson and Thelma Jane Brunson, was born December 5, 1959, in Baltimore, Maryland. He departed this life suddenly on May 11, 2022.

Garret received his education in the Baltimore City Public School System, graduating from Fredrick Douglas High School for music. He loved singing, played the saxophone, piano, and guitar.

Garret was a hard worker and great cement finisher. His work both with Schuster Concrete Construction and freelance has touched every part of Maryland and beyond.

Garret was a religious man; he was a member of Mt. Pleasant Christian Ministries for most of his active years and even when he was not in attendance each Sunday, he was in his Bible every day. Most notably his favorite scripture was John 3:16," For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him shall not perish but have ever lasting life," which he could recite in seconds it seemed.

Garret was a family man; he was tough on the outside but had a heart of gold and always gave it to you straight.

Garret was preceded in death by his father John Henry Brunson, his mother Thelma Jane Brunson, and a brother Edward (Cootie) Brunson.

Left to cherish fond memories of Garret are his wife LeVerne Brunson, three children: Jarah, Shenika, and Garrett Brunson, two grandchildren: Emara Brunson-Leon and Amirah Brunson-Stanley, two brothers: John and Stephan Brunson, two sisters Frances Daniels and Yvette Brunson-Hightower (Lloyd), and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
