"God rsisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time."                                                                                                                                                                                                        I Peter 5: 5-6

Foster Roberts, the youngest child of the late Reverend Lemom Roberts and the late Pearlie Roberts was born on October 24, 1928 in Dillon County, South Carolina. He went home to be with the Lord on May 15, 2016 in the Florence Rehab, Florence, South Carolina.

Foster received his formal education at the Dillon County Training School. After graduating from high school, he entered the United States Army, where he receive an honorable discharge. Foster lived in Trenton, New Jersey for over forty years. He was employed at Aberdeen Sportswear and proudly boasted that he never missed a day of work; a job to which he walked everyday (rain or shine), sleet or snow.

Foster was married to the late Carry Mae Owens. He was loved and adored by his family members and all who knew him. He was very kind and unassuming. His graciousness and tenderness are traits for which he will long be remembered. Throughout his sickness, he never complained and was deeply appreciative to everyone for everything that they did for him.

Foster was a Christian, who loved, praised and worshiped the Lord with all of his heart, mind and soul. He could often be heard singing his favorite song: "Too Close to the Mirror." He believed strongly in the power of prayer, also. He was a member of Weston Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church; he loved his church and his pastor very much.

Foster was a member of the American Legion, Latta Post #266.

Foster was predeceased by his wife, his parents and five siblings: David Roberts, Sissie Roberts, Mabel Miles, James Nathaniel Roberts, Sr. and Essie Mae Roberts.

Foster will always be loved and his memory cherished by a very special niece: Kisha Thompson and her fiance Scott Leverette of the home, who were his caregivers; special nieces, Shelia Robert and her fiance Leroy Brown of Latta, South Carolina and Janice Faye (Roosevelt) Mitchell of Conway, South Carolina, who he considered daughters since he did not have any children of his own; special nephews, John D. (Geraldine) Roberts of Latta, South Carolina and Willie Fred (Barbara) Roberts of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, who he considered a brother, since they were reared together; niece Shawnna (DeWarren) Foster of Savannah, Georgia and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
