Ms. Flora Catherine Roberts, daughter of the late Neil Jay Roberts and Flora S. Alford Roberts was born March 28, 1943 in Rowland, North Carolina and departed this life on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 8:19 P.M. in the Chapel Hill Hospital after a short illness.

Flora attented the public schools of North Carolina and graduated Valentarian in 1961. She later became a Teacher Assistant at Southside School.

Flora gave her life early and began to work in church. Flora was a dedicated worker in her church. She believed in serving. She was a member of the Pastors Aide, Trustee Board, Senior Choir, Sunday School Teacher, and Secretary of the Sunday school.

Flora was a reader. She was a person that believed in keeping good records of ALL THINGS. Flora was a private person BUT she loved her family.

Flora was predeceased by her father Neil Roberts, mother Flora Roberts, Sister Mary Johnson and Myrtle Moss, and brother Neil Roberts.

Left to cherish fond memories are a son Hayward Lawrence McCormick(Shinelle) of Virginia Beach, Virginia, two daughters: Denise Y, Gathings(Kenneth) Lumberton, North Carolina, and Alesia McCormick Vick(Delvin) Syracuse, New York. Two loving sisters: Theresa Roberts of St. Alban, New York and Dorothy Rivers of St. Antonio, Texas. Four loving brothers: Willie Roberts of Rowland, North Carolina, Ernest Roberts of Rowland, North Carolina, William Roberts(Zula) of Rowland, North Carolina; and Bob Roberts(Linda) of Charlotte, North Carolina; ten grandchildren, three great grandchildren and a large host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
