Mr. Benjamin "Benny" Walter McTeer, III 63 of Dillon, South Carolina entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at the Carolinas Hospital System in Florence, South Carolina after a brief illness. Funeral services are incomplete and will be announced later.
The family will receive friends at 1210 North Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Dillon, South Carolina.
Funeral services for Benjamin Walter McTeer, III will be conducted on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at 12:00 Noon from Saint Stephens United Methodist Church-701 North 1st Avenue in Dillon, South Carolina with Reverend Barry McFadden, Pastor. Burial will follow in the Rest Haven Cemetery in Dillon, South Carolina.
SFC Benjamin Walter McTeer, III son of the late Benjamin Walter McTeer, Jr and the late Eloise Davis McTeer was born December 4, 1951 in Dillon, South Carolina and departed this life on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 in the Carolinas Hospital System in Florence, South Carolina after a brief illness.
Benny was a 1969 graduate of Gordon High School and attended St. Augustine's College in Raleigh, North Carolina. Benny was a faithful member of St. Stephens United Methodist Church. SFC Benjamin W. McTeer known as "Serge" was a soldier in the United States Army for 22 years and was an Army Strong Veteran. Benny was employed by the Dillon County Detention Center for 10 years and until his health failed.
Benjamin W. McTeer, III was united in holy matrimony to Blanche McInnis McTeer and to this union two children were born: Tiffany McTeer-Ervin and Shantel McTeer McRae.Rae of Dillon, South Carolina; one brother, Vernoy K. McTeer of Dillon, South Carolina, a special friend Jeanette Whittington, four grandsons: Jamez Ervin, Torez, Tyquzz and Braylon McRae, two granddaughters: Adrianna Ervin and Tianya McRae all of Dillon, South Carolina, a special niece and nephew Jennifer and Keith McTeer both of Florence, South Carolina, one aunt Dorothy D. Greene of Dillon, South Carolina, a special sister Bertha Manning of Dillon, South Carolina, three special children: Delanie Whittington, Tywanda Rogers and Kizzy Rogers, a host of Whittington special grands, a God daughter Arielle Simoncelli, one God son Shamar "Muscle" Whittington, three best friends: Edgar Johnson, Robert McRae and Nathan Whittington, other nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
