Ruby Louise (Sippi) Alford Stanley daughter of the late Johnnie F. Alford and Ruby McEachern Alford was born in Portsmouth, Virginia on February 23, 1949 and departed this life on July 21, 2019 at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence, South Carolina.
Ruby attended Gordon High School and later earned her diploma from Dillon High School in 1979. Ruby drove public buses for Dillon County for over ten years. She also worked as a jailer and dispatcher for Dillon County. Ruby was a life-long member of St. Matthew African Methodist Episcopal Church where she sang on the Senior Choir.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents (named above) and two brothers: John Charles Alford and Michael Oneal Alford.
Ruby is survived by one brother James Alford of Hamer, South Carolina and one sister Rosie Alford McCoy of Bennettsville, South Carolina.
Ruby leaves to cherish fond memories two daughters: Terry D. Alford Owens of Florence, South Carolina and Georgette M. Alford of Greenville, South Carolina, three sons: Eliott Tyrone (Sonya) Alford of Cameron, North Carolina, Timothy Dwayne Stanley of Dillon, South Carolina and Calvin Stanley, Jr., of Lumberton, North Carolina, also one daughter raised as her own Celeste Felicia (Johnnie) Johnson of Clayton, North Carolina. Ruby had thirteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many many friends.
Mrs. Ruby L. Stanley entered into eternal rest on Sunday, July 21, 2019 in the McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence, South Carolina. Funeral Services will be conducted on Sunday, July 28, 2019 at 3:00 P.M. from St. Matthew African Episcopal Church 401 Elkins Road in Hamer, South Carolina. Interment will follow in the St. Matthew A. M. E. Church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at 844 Enterprise Road in Dillon, South Carolina.
