Obituary

Evangelist Betty Jo McGill-Brock entered into eternal rest at home on December 18, 2016. She was born May 26, 1965 to the late Rev. Harry Sr. and the late Evangelist Clara Mae McGill.

She was educated in the Dillon County School System and was a 1983 graduate of Dillon High School.  Betty Jo always had a love for people. She worked at Pines Nursing Home until her health failed. Anyone that knew Betty Jo, knew that her passion was music. Throughout the years she sang with groups like the McGill Singers, Sylvia Davis & the Spiritual Voices, Unity of Dillon, and Women of Destiny. She was very well know for her powerful voice, that could make everyone fee the presence of God. She was known for her loving smile and her bigger than life personality. To know her, was to love her.

Betty Jo accepted Christ at an early age. She was a member at True Evidence Ministries in Lake Vies, S.C.. under the leadership of Pastor Kenneth McGill, and in 2015 she accepted her call into the ministry.

Betty Jo was proceeded in death by her parents, Rev. Harry McGill, Sr. & Evangelist Clara Mae McGill, a son Justin Brock and daughter Quantara Brock.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories: her husband Jimmy Brock, Sr., a son Jimmy Brock Jr., four sisters: Evangelist Lydia Benjamin, Evangelist.Annie Marie (Min. Leon) Devlin, Elgerene (Howard) Davis, and Carenell (Pastor John) Williams. Five brothers: Rev. Harry Jr. (Antoinette) McGill, Terry (Ethaleen) McGill, and Rev. Kenneth (Tamela) McGill  seven grandchildren: Sha'Naja, Quantata, Aaliyah, Tra'shaun, Ja'Kayla, Ty'mone, and Aden, a special nephew Javaughn "Mooch" McGill, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Love Lives On

Those we love remain with us for love itself lives on,

and cherished memories never fade because a loved one is gone.

Those we love can never be more than a thought apart,

for a long as there is memory, they'll live on in the heart.
