Barbara Ann Alford

We sadly regret the passing of Barbara Ann Alford. She passed away on June 1, 2017 in Greensboro NC. Funeral Services will be held at Saint Matthew AME Church in Hamer SC on Tuesday June 6th at 3:00 pm. You can visit the family at 507 South 16th Ave. Dillon SC 29536.

OBITUARY 

Barbara Ann Alford was born February 12, 1957. She departed this life into eteranl rest on June 1, 2017. At an early age, she joned St. Matthew AME Church. She enjoyed hearing the Word of God. She lived her life with belief in God and would frequently say "Man says one thing, but God says another" .

Barbara was a kind and loving caregiver for the elderly in their homes most of her life, until she moved to Greensboro NC in 2014 to take care of her sister. She did so until her recent illness. Barbara was known to her nieces & nephews affectionately as "Aunt Nanny." Her love for them was always shown by the prideful smile, encouraging hug and a warm heart. Her love for family had no boundaries or conditions. She was a devoted sister and loyal friend. When asked, "What are we gonna do about our family Aunt Nanny?" She replied, "Just Love Them."

Barbara was a loving mother, who was procedded in death by her son Bryant LaKeith Alford. brothers and sister who also proceeded her in death: Macie Bethea, Elijah Alford, Lou Alice Drawhorn, Keevy Alford.

Barbara is survived by her granddaughter- Mersadiz Colvin (Kenneth), 3 Brothers: Lonnell (Sandra) Alford, Kenny Alford and Ronald (Leslie) Alford. 3 sisters Idella Blount, Dorine Page and Sarah Salmon, 3 Special Aunts: Diana Washington, Flora C McNair and Essie Blount, Special Friends: Honey Woods, Katie Lee Woods, Betty Myers and Sue Neil Singleton. Special 1st cousin Thomas Washington and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
